Privacy Policy
Draft prepared before opening; to be finalised after legal review.
Taut Clinic (“the Clinic”) processes personal information in accordance with Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act and related laws.
1. What we collect
- Consultation and booking: name, contact details, messenger ID, nationality, planned visit dates
- Treatment: medical and treatment records; consultation photos with separate consent
- Automatically: access logs, cookies, device information, and the tag on the link you came from (for example an ad or social media link)
Health information — medical and treatment records and consultation photos — is sensitive information under Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act. We process it as Korea’s Medical Service Act requires for your care, and otherwise only with your separate consent.
2. Why
- Consultation, booking, treatment and aftercare
- Keeping medical records as required by law
- With separate consent, news and information
3. Retention
Medical records are kept for the periods set by Korea’s Medical Service Act: medical charts and surgical records 10 years; the patient register, test records, imaging and nursing records 5 years; copies of medical certificates 3 years; prescriptions 2 years. Information from consultations or bookings that did not lead to treatment, and any other information, is deleted once its purpose is fulfilled. Consent to marketing messages is kept until you withdraw it.
4. Service providers
We share information only where the law allows it or you agree. We use Healingpaper Co., Ltd. (Gangnam Unni KOS — booking, customer and chart system) and Kakao Corp. (KakaoTalk channel consultations and notices) in Korea. Overseas providers are listed in section 5.
5. Overseas transfer
To consult with international patients we use the overseas messaging and email services below. Messages and photos you send through them may be stored on these providers’ servers outside Korea.
- What: name, contact details and messenger ID, consultation content, and any photos or health information you send
- When and how: over the network, each time you contact us or we reply through that channel
- Recipients (country): WhatsApp LLC (USA) · WeChat International Pte. Ltd. (Singapore — servers in Singapore and Malaysia; chats with Weixin users in mainland China are also processed in mainland China) · LY Corporation (Japan, LINE) · Google LLC (USA, email). Each can be contacted through the channel listed in its own privacy policy.
- Purpose and retention: message delivery and storage, under each provider’s own policy. We copy only what is needed for consultation and booking into our clinic system, and delete photos and health information left in messengers once their purpose is fulfilled.
- How to refuse: if you prefer no overseas transfer, you can consult through our KakaoTalk channel (servers in Korea) or in person. Not using overseas messengers will not affect your care.
This website runs on servers operated by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), which process access logs and device information. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies, and use Google Analytics (Google LLC, USA) only if you agree to visit statistics.
6. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion or suspension of processing at any time. Residents of the EU (GDPR), China (PIPL) and Japan (APPI) can use the same contact point.
